The Institution of Engineers, Singapore is now EV friendly

The Institution of Engineers, Singapore (IES), is embracing the electric future with the installation of a Volt EV charging station at the IES Green Building at Bukit Tinggi. This facility represents a move towards sustainability and convenience for its members and visitors.

The Volt Charging Station offers two sets of 22kW AC chargers for EV owners to conveniently charge their vehicles with peace of mind while attending events, conferences or daily activities at the Institution.

Mr. Lim Yong Wei, General Manager of Energy as a Service said, “Volt is proud to partner IES, the premier engineering institution in Singapore which showcases our commitment to environmental responsibility and support for the transition to electric mobility. By offering an accessible and efficient charging solution, the institution is not only reducing carbon emissions but also encouraging a cleaner, greener future for all.”

Mr Dalson Chung, President of IES said, “IES is proud to complete the installation of the Volt EV charging station at our premises with the support of Keppel Energy-as-a-Service. This checks off another key target set in the IES Green Plan 2030 to support the goal set in the Singapore Green Plan 2030 of deploying 60,000 EV charging points nationwide by 2030 under the Energy Reset pillar. We hope more organisations will join us in making efforts to ramp up EV charging infrastructure as together, we can accelerate the drive towards a sustainable and smart energy future.”

The Volt EV charging station at IES serves as a testament to their dedication to innovation, sustainability and the advancement of engineering solutions. It marks a milestone in the journey towards a more sustainable transportation ecosystem, reinforcing the institution's role as an advocate for social responsibility and engineering excellence.
